Each piece is cut and finished by hand from textiles with their own character. A little care keeps the colour, drape and shape as they left the studio.

Silk shantung
| Clean | Dry cleaning is best. If you hand wash, use cold water and a silk detergent, keep it brief, and never wring. Roll the piece in a towel to take out water. |
| Dry | Hang on a wide hanger in the shade. No tumble dryer, no radiator, no direct sun. |
| Press | Steam while hanging, or iron on the silk setting from the reverse with a cloth between. Shantung can water-mark, so avoid spraying it directly. |
| Wear | Put on perfume and deodorant before dressing and let them dry. Deep colours may release a little dye at first, so keep away from pale fabrics when damp. |
| Store | Hang on a padded hanger in a breathable cotton bag, not plastic, away from light so the colour stays rich. |

| Clean | Don't wash. Brush with a soft clothes brush and spot-clean marks with a damp cloth and a little wool detergent. |
| If it gets wet | Reshape it, fill the crown with tissue paper, and let it dry at room temperature, away from heat. |
| Store | Keep the crown supported, on a shelf or in a box, never squashed under other things. Cedar or lavender keeps moths away. |
| Pilling | Natural wool can pill where it rubs. Lift bobbles gently with a fabric comb. |
